Carl Fredrik Svenstedt Architects is a tight-knit team making tailored environments. Our projects are founded in a humanist sensibility, where well-being is a self-evident starting point for architectural innovation. Our designs are also based on material, for architecture is about thinking, but also about making.
Our projects are affirmative and sensitive.
Carl Fredrik Svenstedt Architect was named Firm of the Year for Sustainable Architecture 2020 and shortlisted as Architect of the Year 2020 and nominated for the French Equerre d’Argent 2017.

Carl Fredrik Svenstedt Architectes est une structure réduite privilégiant le développement de projets choisis, en travaillant avec le souci du détail pour une production de qualité. Dans cette démarche, nous menons une recherche sur la construction innovante s’appliquant à la création de bâtiments pérennes. Cette innovation passe largement par la matière, notamment la pierre structurelle, car il s’agit de réfléchir, mais également de faire.
Nos projets sont témoins d’un travail audacieux et sensible.
L’agence a été désignée Agence de l’Année pour l’Architecture Durable 2020 ainsi qu’Architecte de l’Année 2020 aux Dezeen Awards en tant que finaliste. L’agence a été nommé à l’Équerre d’Argent en 2017.
CARL FREDRIK SVENSTEDT
Carl Fredrik Svenstedt was born in Stockholm, and grew up in Montreal. He graduated from Harvard and the Yale School of Architecture, and founded his architectural practice in Paris in 2000 after working in Paris and New York.
He teaches architecture at the Versailles School of Architecture (ENSAV). He has taught at the Lille, Villette and Normandy Schools of Architecture, as well as the Ecole Spéciale d’Architecture, where he was Associate Professor. He has been a visiting Professor at the Spitzer School of Architecture at City University of New York, Middlebury College, The Confluence Insititue in Paris, and led an annual workshop at the Münster School of Architecture. He also taught film and architecture at the CLCF in Paris.
Carl Fredrik Svenstedt holds a World Fishing Record for Siberian Salmon, from Mongolia, certified by the IGFA.

Carl Fredrik Svenstedt est né à Stockholm en Suède et a grandi à Montréal au Canada. Diplômé de Harvard et de la Yale School of Architecture, il fonde son agence à Paris en 2000 après avoir travaillé à Paris et à New York.
Il enseigne à l’École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Versailles (ENSAV). Il a enseigné aux ENSAN de Lille, La Villette et Normandie après sept ans comme Professeur Associé à l’École Spéciale d’Architecture. Il a aussi été Professeur Invité au Spitzer School of Architecture à City University de New York, Middlebury College et au Confluence Institue à Paris, et menait un workshop annuel au Münster School of Architecture en Allemagne. Il était conférencier au CLCF à Paris sur le cinéma et l’architecture.
Carl Fredrik Svenstedt détient un record mondial de pèche pour le Saumon Sibérien de Mongolie, certifié par le IGFA.
