PROJECT: Community hall and parking garage

The project forms a linear piazza linking the hall to the fortified town. The community hall is carved into the hill like a fold in the landscape that opens onto the view. A virtual reflecting pool made of solar panels mirrors the mountains, shading the parking garage. The vertical windows of the curved hall give rhythm to the interior, and frame views of the roof garden and Romanesque church up the hill.

Le projet s’inscrit de manière à créer une place en longueur, reliant le village perché à la salle polyvalente. Le parking en contrebas est couvert de panneaux solaires donnant l’effet d’un plan d’eau reflétant le ciel et les montagnes. Sous sa toiture végétalisée, la salle polyvalente forme un pli dans le paysage s’ouvrant sur la place. La salle prend la forme d’une courbe creusée dans la montagne dont les fentes verticales rythment et filtrent les vues, en apportant la lumière naturelle de manière contrôlée.
